Select List of Environmental Projects

2003 Air Permitting Assistance of a major airline at Tampa International Airport
(Tampa, Florida): D.E.S. was contracted to assist this facility with specific permitting relating to the Clean Air Act and its Amendments. D.E.S. acted as a liaison and representative of this company in negotiations with state and federal regulatory agencies. The engineers at D.E.S successfully presented their case to both agencies and were able to prevent the instating of a higher level of classification. This saved the facility thousands of dollars in permitting fees and regulatory requirements.

2002 Air Quality Remediation of a 1,000,000 cubic ft. Warehouse
(Salt Lake City, UT): Numerous diesel powered vehicles were utilized to deliver and remove materials from within the warehouse. Due to problems with the originally designed flow through ventilation system, D.E.S. was contracted to determine a method to remediate the buildup of particulate matter and carbon monoxide within the building. D.E.S. designed a solution to the problem, installed two heated blower units, and re-developed the air exhaust system.

1994 Emergency Response
(Florida): Approximately 22,000 gallons of Jet A fuel was released from an aboveground aviation fuel farm at an international Airport in Florida. The tank farm was located immediately adjacent to a primary airport drainage canal that discharged into the Gulf of Mexico. D.E.S. recovered approximately 16,000 gallons of the fuel during emergency response actions.

1988-current Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans: D.E.S. has assisted numerous facilities with regulatory plans such as SWPPP and SPCC. The environmental specialists employed as D.E.S. have designed an extensive amount of experience in this area. D.E.S has developed plans for over 100 facilities throughout the United States. Clients have included airlines, asphalt plants, various industrial plants, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

1988- current OSHA Assistance: Our staff of professional environmental specialists are experts in all aspects of OSHA regulations. D.E.S has conducted audits, client advocacy, consultation, and fine negotiations for hundreds of facilities across the United States. And in turn saved these facilities thousands of dollars in fines and poor publicity exposure.
